Facilitating massively empowering birth experiences

Your Doula

Rooted in inclusive advocacy and born from a background in Public Policy at Portland State University, I have dedicated my career to supporting families through their most transformative moments. As a proud ally, I bring a wealth of experience from Oregon to the international community here in Amsterdam.

Drawing from my professional training at Birthingway College of Midwifery and my history as a certified healthcare worker, I provide expert guidance through the Dutch maternity system. I bridge the gap for expat parents, merging my strategic advocacy skills with compassionate, hands-on perinatal care.

My mission is to empower expat families as they navigate childbirth in a new country. Living in the Netherlands with my own children, I understand the unique journey of relocation and parenthood, offering a steady hand and professional insight to make your transition into parenthood both smooth and joyful.

When I am not supporting international parent groups or exploring Amsterdam's vibrant local markets with my family, you will find me embracing the Dutch lifestyle and the beautiful tulip fields. I am honored to help you build your village during this special adventure.

A proud Portland native, I spent years fostering inclusive birth and newborn support in Oregon. As an LGBTQ+ and BIPOC ally, I hold a BA in Public Policy from Portland State University. Today, I bring that advocacy to the Amsterdam region, guiding expats through their unique birthing  journeys.

My goal and reward is always for you to arrive at the beautiful moment where that gorgeous baby is placed on your chest and you get to breath them in for the first time.

Together, we will get you to that moment in a number of ways. It often begins with looking over your birth options and birth goals together. It’s totally okay to go into this process without strong feelings of your goals. We will discuss your comfort level, desires, and beliefs. Your ideas for birth can be as detailed or as vague as you like. Some birthing people are thankful taking the lead of their OB or Midwife. Other people may prefer to birth without any intervention from traditional healthcare providers. Both of these birth goals are perfect in their own way. Both of these goals can coexist. Creating your own goals for birth is an integral part of the process. By presenting you with options and providing you with evidence-based research, you can feel empowered to make the right decisions for you and your body.

I have worked in hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ offices, and I understand some of the reasons why things are done a certain way. I have also been on the receiving end of medical treatment that saved my life and ensured the health of my baby. There are reasons the hospital teams do things the way they do, but this doesn’t mean you don’t have any choices. This is your birth story. Togerher, we will get you to that beautiful moment you meet your baby.
